Our scope of work in North Devon continues to grow with the latest addition being a contract with Newland Homes in Barnstaple. Barbican Walk is a select development of 3 and 4 bedroom houses, a scheme we are very excited to be working on and look forward to forging a new relationship with Newland.

Part of the MJS Group includes Kitchen fitting. This is another string to the bow of the carpentry division and we have most recently completed the stunning new kitchen at Cornwood Chase in Ivybridge for Larkfleet Homes. On offer in this exciting development is a range of two and three-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes to suit first-time buyers, growing families and families that would rather not grow any more. All of our homes come with a ten-year insurance-backed guarantee provided by LABC (LocaI Authority Building Control).

The group have been awarded a new multi trade site in Langport, Somerset. This site adds to our growing collection of work in Somerset for our Carpentry, Drylining, Painting and Tiling divisions showing the strength in depth we have here at MJS Group. A strong set up in Somerset making use of our Highbridge Depot allows us to take on work from Bristol across to Wincanton and across the levels. These 80 new plots provide our workforce with further continuation and years of work ahead.

Taylor Wimpey have awarded us with two new sites, one at Newton Abbot and the other at Exmouth. Having worked with Taylor Wimpey for a number of years it is pleasing to see they still value our work and continue to award new contracts.

At a recent Charity event held at Sandy Park, BDW hosted a fabulous Casino themed charity gala at which over £10,000.00 was raised. The event was well supported and we were delighted to attend.

Our drylining side has won the tender for an exciting new site in Bodmin for Persimmon Homes Cornwall. This new sites brings us back in to Cornwall in a big way, having worked a lot there in the past, recently we have been more successful North of the Tamar. The new contract is hugely welcomed and a site we are really looking forward to working on.

Our carpentry division continues it’s recent run off success by winning a brand new site for Larkfleet Homes SW in Ilton, Somerset. Ilton, near Taunton is a great location for us as a business and has seen a lot of work carried out by the Group in the past with our local labour. We are excited about this project with Larkfleet and continuing to broaden our workload with this up and coming builder in the area.

The Group has now expanded into a new division undertaking surface repair work and sealants. This is a new and exciting chapter for the company. It enhances our drive to complete plots to a high standard even during the difficult scenarios that occur on site. The repairs division can undertake work on damaged doors and handrails, chipped bath and shower trays during installation, scratched decorative stone and UPVC cills and other small repairs when needed. This in some ways is an extension of our aftercare service but, during the build process. If the damage is not extreme or too extensive, the plastic surgeon repair can often be the most financial viable and most time efficient way of finishing the house. ‘This is a sector we have been looking at for some time’ Louis, Managing Director explains…’It is a division that links well with our award winning customer care team and allows us to offer a greater variety of services to our clients and one in particular we are often asked to undertake. With the Groups ‘can-do’ attitude it gives our client base comfort knowing these small repair items won’t become bigger problems further down line’.

On Saturday Managing Director, Louis, was invited to Sidmouth RFC to watch the first team play Winscombe. During the day Louis was presented a shirt with our new logo on, which will be worn by the Colts team in the league. Louis was pleased to receive the shirt and thanked Sidmouth for the great day which saw a convincing win. The Shirt sponsorship deal follows on from the recent refurbishment of the changing rooms which MJS Group played a part in. We wish Sidmouth RFC all the best for the rest of the season and keep the top place in the league.

MJS Group has been successful in winning two exciting multi trades sites in Somerset across our Drylining, Painting and tiling business. These two new sites add big volume to our workload in the area. The sites located in Yeovil and Sherborne give the labour in the area continued work and with our long standing client, Persimmon Homes, give comfort in the product and time scales they require.
