Decorating Supervisor Position Available

MJ Stevens are recruiting a new Decorating & Tiling Supervisor due to continued growth and new sites. The role will involve speaking with our clients, booking in labour to work with customers in new-build homes and arranging the materials and diaries of our operatives. This will require excellent organisational skills, understanding of new build sites and high standards of work. The ideal candidate would be based in Exeter or Plymouth. Management experiencing is preferred and an understand of house building. If you are looking to progress your career with a growing company and feel up the the challenge then apply within.

Chiefs Make Third Straight Premiership Final

2018 marks an amazing year for Exeter Chiefs, a second Anglo Welsh cup win, final of the A-League and a third consecutive Premiership Final. The Semi final held at Sandy Park on Saturday saw the Chiefs hold over 90% possession in the first half and ground high flying Falcons to just 5 points in the game. Opening try from scrum half Nic White was followed by Olly Woodburn and Don Armond later in the game. The game finished 36-5. On to Twickenham we go! The final game at Sandy Park this season was watched by MJS Staff and material suppliers CCF.

New Site in Exeter

Plastering may seem old fashioned and void in this day and age but thanks to the wide variety of trades, from carpentry to wall tiling, MJS can still offer plastering as a core business. The group has expanded hugely over time but we still pride ourselves on being able to undertake plastering works. The new site in Exeter is for Setter and Saunders, a great addition to our order book.

MJS Managment Enjoy Night Out With Chiefs

For the second year in a row MJS Staff joined the Exeter Chiefs at the annual awards night at Sandy Park. The big winner of the night was fast rising super star Sam Simmonds and Carl Rimmer also picked up a trophy. The night saw retiring player and corporate manager Kai Hortsmann host interviewing a host of big Exeter names. The event was attended by Directors and senior management with Chief Players Phil Dollman and Shaun Malton. An enjoyable evening was had by all.

New Financial Controller Joins Team

Today we welcome Richard on board to MJ Stevens, bringing with him a wealth of experience within finance and accountancy. Richard is new to the construction world and is keen to learn about how we operate and implement the skills he can bring to the company. Richard takes up the role of Financial Controller, overseeing payments, credit control and purchasing .

New Site Start with McCarthy & Stone

This week sees us start with new decorating client McCarthy & Stone. The site is in a prime location for our decorators, at Pinhoe in Exeter. A good run of work is provided for our local labour on this retirement community.

Chiefs Book Semi Final Spot

Exeter Chiefs won the second round of the South West Derby beating Gloucester comfortably this weekend. Strong performances across the board, highlighted by returnee Jack Nowell with a brace of tries. An accurate boot from the inform Joe Simmonds and a try from his brother Sam was enough to put Gloucester back on the bus wondering how they let Exeter slip through the net so many times. This week’s game was enjoyed by Gloucester locals and Electrical friends Clarkson Evans, Sidmouth RFC, Michele Campagnaro, Shaun Malton, Staff and Directors of MJ Stevens.

Chiefs Win Anglo Welsh Cup

The Anglo Welsh Cup heads it way back to Devon, safe on the Chief’s Bus. A tournament support by MJ Stevens Staff, Customers, Suppliers and Friends saw the season’s efforts pay dividends with a win over South West rivals Bath at the home of another South West team, Gloucester. A game which saw youngster Jack Innard score a brace of tries and the ever reliable boot of Joe Simmonds saw Exeter ease pass a wondering Bath pack. The game was watched by our Managing Director Louis Greenaway, pictured below, with Captain and Corporate Sales Manager Kai Hortsmann and avid Chiefs supporter Tom Reed.

Chiefs Make 4th Straight Final

On Sunday the boys in pink made the final of the Anglo Welsh cup, captained by Dave Dennis. Winning the semi final in a tight frantic game. For the second weekend in a row young Joe Simmonds put in a man of the match performance with a cool head and sharp kicking skills held back visiting Newcastle on Mothering Sunday. This weekend’s game was watched by our Directors and material suppliers. End score was 20-17.
